Hi ladies,

I need someone that is good at typing up ad's for a job.

My df and i have decided we want to get a baby sitter for our dd until bub is born.

We are wanting someone that has great experiance, and current police and children checks.

Also they must be on call if we need them anytime of the day.

We are willing to pay good dollars. They must look after dd at our home.


Also do any of you ladies also have some ideas on questions i could ask them so i know my dd is going to be safe with them? As i have seen some fake people before.. ( No one on here dont worry)

If some people can help me out that would be great.

hello! u could ask them if they have a current first aid cert, and for some references (and you should ring them)..

rates negotiable.

i dunno, im hopeless at typing ads...lol
if you put 'rates negotialbe' see what they offer, you might get cheaper than what you wanted to pay..

My partner and i did do an ad a while back but we kept getting 16 to 19 year olds( No offence to the age) but we would perfer someone older.. and then some 16 year old kept sending df emails and trying to chat him up haha

If your looking for the over 21 market I would add mature to the advert ie: mature experienced babysitter/nanny rather than just reliable babysitter.

I have search many many many many ads for baby sitters (I'm a sitter) and I think a brief description of what your looking for and needs are followed by a straight forward list. Because then its easy to work out if you'll fit one anothers needs.

Applicants must:
*2 years relevant experience
* Provide 3 contactable references from previous employers.
*childrens first aid
*working with children background check
*Be aged 21 or older.

I like gumtree.com, cos its free... though I think you have to wade through a lot of people on there.

Also, with finding a baby sitter to be 'on call' are you looking for a sitter for like the odd friday evening, or as a regular committment... my suggestion if you want to have a babysitter 'on call' is find at least 2, because good baby sitters are likely to be booked out in advance.

It always seems to happen to me, I have absolutely nothing on for weeks and weeks and I get a call to work on the ONE NIGHT I cant do so having a back up baby sitter is probably something to consider.

It depends where you advertise, but some states won't let you put the age in, so you have to stick with 'mature' - which is why you see it so often, it's discrimination law, so just be aware of that especially if you run it in newspapers etc, because the classies people may not pick you up on it (burden of responsibility is on you, I think), but if someone complains to the right place you could run into problems.

You can only advertise for women in certain situations too, just fyi

(I just finished up 12 months working in newspaper advertising, but not in classies)
