poo problem theories

My 7 and half month girl has had some runny poos (watery) for a few days. She seems healthy and well otherwise. No temperature.

Am mystified. All foods have been given to her one at a time for four days so I can spot reactions. So far only one of those foods is an offender and I've stopped giving it.

I read on another website's forum that someone found too much baby rice cereal can cause runny poos. I would have thought the opposite.

Has anyone found that to be true for them?

Also, I suspect teething is bothering her again. Had several goes of teething since 4 months but no teeth have come through yet.

I know it's quite debatable about teething causing runny poos. Did you find that your child had runny poos while teething?

Would love to get to the bottom (haw haw) of this.

Teething would be my thought.

DS went back to watery poos for a few days when he had tonsillitis, but that was mainly due to drinking three times as much breastmilk as usual cause eating hurt his throat so he went off his solids for a while.

Thankyou Anonnymouse. Last night it did occur to me that there isn't much dribble so perhaps it is the food...

This morning upon more contemplation I've found that the only thing I can pinpoint is I've increased the amount of cereal she is given. The poos did start around that time.

So today I'll decrease it. What's a good alternative to cereal? Potato I'm thinking...

Anymore ideas would be appreciated.

My friend's son has had runny poo since being on solids. Turns out he has a fructose intolerance. Does she have a lot of fruit?

DS3 went through this at about 6 months, he i completely cut out all solids he saw specialist, they could not find the cause of his runny poo's, was not teething, was not his formula, was just him, he just had and still as horrible poo's, after nearly 3 weeks it stopped but they were still soft. Sometimes it's just their bodies i think.

Is a comfort to know it has happened to others.

DD doesn't have a lot of fruit so I don't think it's that.

Went to doc the other day and a poo sample has been sent to pathology to be tested. Nearly been 2 weeks now. Look forward to getting some answers (I hope) in the next day or two.

If nothing shows maybe it is just her own body's way.
