Default The birth of My First Boy

    The Birth of my baby...
15th Oct- had my Ob visit and was told i wouldn't be back again and should have bub on the weekend. (no interal was done just felt where the head was on tummy.

ob was 8 1/2hrs late as Dominic was born Monday at 8.31am but still close enough! (got the weekend off as finished work on friday)

19th oct at 1.30am had to get up as started feeling alittle cramps but were just alittle more annoying then the BH that i had been feeling for the past few weeks which had woken me up. These tightness in my tummy were happening every 15 mins. everytime i was about to fall asleep the pain came again.

at 2am i got up to see if they would slow down but didn't.

2.30am called the hospital just to let them know i would be coming sometime today as i thought i was in early stages of labour and will come in when they get stronger as i didnt want to be waiting around in hospital, i'd prepfer to be at home.

Asked what i can do to make things happen quicker and they told me to get some sleep, if i could i would of been!!!

But told me when i was ready to go in i could go (surprised as with first bub they told me not to go in until 5 mins apart?!)

3am told DH to make sure he has his phone on him at work and be prepared to come home to get me as he was going to start work at 5am.

4am contractions were still all over the place from 10min to 20min bu were getting stronger, i needed to walk though them made it feel much more easier.

went though my bags making sure i had everything all packed, then got DD stuff ready so were can pick up and go.

4.45am DH told me he wasn't going to work and told me to get ready to go drop DD at parents house.

5.10 arrived at parents house, then went straight to hospital.

5.25am arrived at hospital, then went on to the monitors which did confirm labour had started, and was 4cm dilated.

5.50 was placed in birthing suite, and was sittting down watching the today show! breathing though my contactions... stll at the same strength

7am contractions started getting stronger and were still varing from 6 to 15 minutes apart but now the contactions were more on my back then in my tummy.

7.15 am was told bub was turing around postior that is y my back was killing! as was also asked if i wanted my waters broken, which i didn't want as from previous birth then is when the real pain is once waters r broken! i wasnt prepared for that!! as from memory it was so so painful and was like tourcher. i wanted things to happen naturally.

She also said she would check how far dilated i was at 9.15am to see if i had been pregressing in the right direction.

8.15 midwife suggest i should rock side to side during my contactions to help move the baby back to the right position. contractions were 6 to 12mins apart... and were really hurting my back, required my lower back to be rubbed during the contractions now.

8.29am had a contraction and rocked with it then bub just dropped down! quickly jumped onto the bed, pressed the help button and off my pants went! within a second DH was shocked how quick i jumped!! and yelled at DH to get pants off my leggs as i wouldn't reach down that far!! i was so scared as i knew the head was out and only my DH was in the room.. would he of known how to catch the bub!?!?

8.30am 4 midwives came rushing in and could clearly see the head and said the next contraction it will be out and he was!

i'd have to say that stage 2 was way easier and i dont even remember the pain as to stage 1.

Born at 8.31am, drug free birth like planned with an outcome of a health baby boy Dominic weighing 6'11 and 50cm long. (shocked at his small birth weight as was told bub was going to be a big baby.. they so lied!!! which is all good!!)

Had a 2nd dregree tear, but so worth it at the end.. even thou not tearing would of been a bonus!
DD Apr 07; 5yrs (but going on 13!)
DS Oct 09; 2yr (Checky Little Boy!)

    DD Nov 11; 8mths & counting...(unexpected fast home delivery!!)
