hi all im currently 18 and have never brought any alcohol before. i have a family gathering on saturday and they asked me to bring the alcohol.. ive only got a learners permit which has my DOB on it which works out for me being 18. Do i need a over 18 card or can i use my drivers licence ( learners permit)

You will need photo ID.... passport, drivers license, 18+ card.... any will do as long as they have your photograph and date of birth.

Nope. If it hasn't got a photo, and they accept it as ID, they're breaking the liquor licensing laws.

You can use your Learners permit.. as long as it has a photo of you.

I used to use my Victorian Learners before getting my P's

I'm 23 and have my learners.

Nobody bothers asking me for ID, except when I've been to a club (because they HAVE to check everyone). Even when I was 18, and I first purchased alcohol, nobody asked. I asked the lady to ask me... lol.

I would think you should be ok, so long as it has a photo of you on it & your DOB. I don't have an over 18 card - didn't think I needed one as I'm 37!! But I still get asked for ID in Bars I show my UK drivers licence which is usually ok.
