Default Bad bump to mouth-bruised gum

My 10 month old daughter banged her mouth really badly (thanks to someone not putting her down properly or safely) on the edge of an outdoor chair on Saturday. She ended up with a mega fat lip and now her top gum (which thankfully doesn't have any teeth yet) is purple bruised.
I'm just wondering what peoples thoughts are on the tooth that will come through there? I so worried its going to be dead now due to the severity of the bang

    Any thoughts anyone?

    I'm not sure..

But teeth are very sensitive. My nephew has 2 discoloured teeth from when he broke his leg falling off the highchair.. and he didn't even bang his head i don't think..

If you're super concerned, get her checked out.. or maybe take her to the dentist to be sure?
When I cry, I am not being naughty or misbehaving; I am not being unreasonable. Please listen to me when I am feeling this way. I know it's hard to listen to me cry. Listen to me so that I don't repress these feelings and turn bitter when I get older. Please don't distract me. I need to deal with these feelings. Offer me hugs and support. Stay with me when I cry. Listen.. Keep listening..

My sisters good friend has a little boy who has severe damage after a fall and unfortunately the teeth are dead.

However this was the result of one really bad fall to the face followed by another really bad fall to the face a few days later.

Maybe go and see a doctor, I'm not sure how much help a dentist will be until the teeth are through.

I hope it all turns out ok.

    Hey hon ..

gah .. kids .. they seriously stress us out ... sigh ..

my son ... at three .. tripped .. and smacked his teeth on a metal chair .. one tooth turned grey ... but has since recovered and is now white again. The dentist that I INITALLY saw was hopeless .. he stressed me out .. saying he wasn't surprised it was turning grey (I was shattered .. ) but then it turned white .. and my regular dentist told me that often kids teeth can go into 'shock' where they turn grey .. (when everything is swollen etc- and the nerve is cut off from the supply of blood etc) ... and then with the swelling going .. the nerve recovers (it doesn't happen as often in adult teeth I dont think ... so it does prove that our kids ARE tough!!!)

The GP and dentist probably wont be able to do anything - and will probably just tell you to wait and see what happens... if you do go anywhere .. I would suggest GP first .. its cheaper .. and he/ she can deal with any infections/ check any skin breaks etc .. stuff that a dentist wont do ..

    good luck ...

    xx
