    Default feeling bub's position

    hi,

    im just wondering if anyone on here would know how to feel for the position of the baby? im just not sure how to determine where is back, head, etc are...they say if you feel around and get to a hard part then its his head or back, but i just cant tell...?

    Sorry, I don't really know how to answer your question. I was told the same thing as you.. feel for a hard part and it's the head but I could always feel 2 hard parts, 1 was the head and the other his bottom lol. I remember one moment when DS had been breach for a few weeks and I was 38 weeks and had tried EVERYTHING to get him to turn and I was just lying in bed and all of a sudden, he was lying horizontally, it was soooo painful but I thought this was my chance to flip him the right way.. well with 2 huge hard bumps, one on each side, do you think I knew which way to push him?? I had no idea so I stood up and tried to let gravity do the work as the head is the heaviest part... it actually worked Anyway, back to your question... obviously I think it's impossible to tell but the midwives usually can!

    i aske my midwife about this 2 weeks ago and when she felt bub was head up bum down she turned around to get the dropler (sp) and she was then head down bum up? i can always tell witch side shes laying on other than when i feel her move but i cant get where the bum n head is, ive been feeling her hic up and i feel them really low so i think shes head down at that time and her heads kinda jumping with each hicup, so not sure

    thats how i could tell too - bub is sitting breech atm but the other day i thought s/he might have turned only to find out s/he had the hiccups and i was feeling them up near my ribs

    but when all is quiet i couldn't tell which is head and which is tail - just feels like two hard round part to me
