    Default Hello

Hi there. I just found this thread and thought I'd introduce myself. My family moved over here in 1970!! We love it here, particularly the folks, although I have always felt a real connection with the UK and have been back a few times, particularly in my early 20s. Lived over in London for three years in my mid 20s. My dh is from London and we have now both settled here in Melbourne (although i was raised in Perth). I was always worried that dh might get homesick but he's been here five years now and still loves it. He's an only child though so I really feel for his folks. We are hoping to go back again next May as dh's grandparents are getting on and we really want to go and spend some time with them again. We are currently trying for bub #1 so hopefully we will have some luck soon and be able to take a little one with us (obviously may have to delay the trip a few months - as long as we go next year). We have some friends who moved over from Manchester but unfortunately after they had a bub they just found it too hard here and have just moved back. Looking forward to chatting!!

Hey Manxie! DH grew up in Norwood which is far north west london. I lived in golders green, tooting bec, kensington gardens and hammersmtih when i lived in London. I so loved it, although last time I was over there I realised that I could probably never live there again. We'll probably only go for two or three weeks when we go over next year!! Still can't wait though!!

    Hey Girls,

Just saw you lived in Norwood, gave me a chuckle, I shared a house with a couple of girls in West Norwood, when I first moved to London, (grew up in Dover!!) Had some great nights in that short period of my life.

We're going back next week too to see the folks, cant wait!
