I'm bf and on the mini pill... surely I couldn't be pg?

Hi everyone,

I'm a little concerned I could be pg. Last night I had some pink bleeding when I went to the loo which I thought was the beginning of my first period after my 3rd baby. I thought it was a bit strange as with my other two boys I didn't menstrate until a few months after I stopped bf - so when my boys were about 10 months old.

My new baby is only 4 months old and I'm still feeding him 8 times in a 24 hour period.

I'm worried I could be pg and that it was implantation bleeding I experienced (mind you I have never had implantation bleeding before). The reason why I'm thinking it could be possible as I missed the pill about a week ago.

What do you think?

You could be, my SIL just had a baby boy and was still BF and on the mini pill.

It is possible - the pill is not 100% reliable and is affected my some many different things - it amazes me more ppl don't get pregnant.

I have a friend who has 2 kids both conceived while on the pill and using correctly.

I also have another friend who feel pregnant when DS was 12 weeks old and she was BF?

Its possible but i think you'd have to be awfully unlucky to get pregnant while bf and on the mini pill and before you've had your first period. Still possible of course.

If you've had sex recently it might be from that. I used to get pink bleeding after sex at certain times of the month, from bumping the cervix when it was sensitive.

For peace of mind you might want to take a pregnancy test and if that's negative, try again in a few days, and then mention the bleeding to your doctor next time you see them or when you next have a pap smear so they can check it out.

I wouldn't worry too much though. From what I've heard its not uncommon to get a bit of pink blood sometimes, especially when on the pill or mini pill.

I hope you are right SD, I don't know how I would cope if I found out I was pg, considering it would be child number 4 and with a baby already. V scary.
