rum and raisn

Hello,

we were on holiday and i bought some "chocolate"fudge, i had eaten about 6 squares if it when i noticed that there was a rasin in it, i looked at the ingredients and they had put the wrong sticker on the pack and it was rum and rasin... silly question but will the rum affect bub?

Based on the amount you ate, and the overall amount of rum put in the chocolate, I doubt it would have done much harm to the bub... I wouldn't be worrying too much

Hi Nat,

I don't know how fudge is made but I assume it's cooked, meaning the alcohol content would go anyway. Also, lots of recipes use imitation rum in cooking because it is cheaper - like in rum & raisin icecream.

I wouldn't worry about a small piece of fudge. There are people who probably drink rum during their pregnancy (lol I just pictured a pregnant pirate on a ship somewhere with a bottle of rum and a piece of rum & raisin fudge
