baby bottles

just wanting some advice as to what sort of baby bottles are the best, not just for bubba to suck etc but for health and safety issues - as in which contain BPA and other chemicals.

I brought the NUK bottle microwave steriliser set that comes with 3 NUK bottles and realised they have the number 7 on them which means they contain BPA and other harmful chemicals...so im thinking of giving them the boot and getting some safer ones

I have no idea where to start on the bottles so any advice on them are appreciated

I use Pigeon Peristalitic bottles with the standard neck. I love them and they have a great range of teats sizes and less than 0.01ug/ml of BPA so are quite safe. The teats are BPA free and they have just released a range of glass bottles if you want the BPA free in the bottle.

I used Avent bottles and you can get them BPA free now. (Sometimes it's a matter of trialing them as my lil girl likes some but not others)

The brand 'Smart Baby' has the safe bottles! I ordered mine online and received it within 24 hours. They are also free of lead which can be in the lable. Any 'clear' plastic baby bottle or bottle e.g water bottle contains this chemical, glass might just be the best option!

I'm not sure about chemicals and stuff, but it might be worth getting a few different sized bottles to see what your baby prefers. We struggled to get our DD to take EBM from the 'Tomme Tippee Nature' range that are supposed to feel more like BFing and avoid nipple confusion. She hated the wide teats yet we bought some cheap woolies bottles with Pur standard teats and she drinks them happily. Having said that, we only use bottles on the very odd occasion so haven't really looked into BPA or anything like that...

Tommee Tippee closer to nature now have BPA free bottles, but be careful some also still sell the other ones. The new ones shouldn't be clear, there a whitish colour, the measurments shouldn't be black they should be embossed into the plastic & you can actually squeeze the bottle its not that really hard clear plastic

i just switched over to them. Also the MAM ultivent bottles are BPA free they are great & Avent now have BPA free ones to other than that im not to sure one any other brands.

Cherub Baby and Grow Baby (these are used by some hospitals). Both are BPA and lead free. I have posted the links for you

We've always used Avent. When they bought in the new BPA we replaced all of ours with those.

I'd wait until your baby was here before buying bottles. You may find breastfeeding something you want to do when the time comes and it may be really easy.

Breastfeeding mums will still need bottles for boiled water and also for when someone is looking after bubs for you (to drink your expressed milk). No harm being organised, I plan to BF and have a couple of bottles for these reasons.
