What does cervical stretching/dilation feel like???

Well I have been getting some fairly stabby pully sort of sensations throughout the day where I imagine my cervix to be.....

I have also been getting a fair amount of pressure, sometimes quite painful, when making a trip to the loo for no. 1's..... it sometimes even feels like something dropping on to my cervix its that hard.....

Could this be my cervix stretching and dilating??? I'm currently 38 wks.....

I have been getting this too - it hurts! Sort of feels as though bubs head is resting on my cervix and grinding against it as she moves, also I find that when I go for a wee she kind of drops down against my cervix. I cant help bu feel excited that something may be happening even though I am not due for 3 weeks yet. I guess she will come when she is ready though!

Sorry to be so graphic but when I was actually dilating that's what it felt like to me!

At 38 weeks you would expect something to be going on down there, so it could be that, or you could be just running out of room (seems to be the excuse for everything I know).

If you're dilating you might see a bit of your plug as well. Not long now, hang in there girls.

That pain you have been feeling is the baby pushing on your pelvic floor muscles. It feels like a shooting pain deep down inside and can stop you in your tracks as it is so uncomfortable. I had them with both of my babies, its totally normal.

sounds to me like the babies are engaging, that's the kind of thing i felt from 37 weeks on, but didn't deliver til 42 weeks!
