    Default Where to buy ...

... I'd like to give DD a little bit more freedom. She just gets so sick of the pram or the trolley, but is still so young that she has no sense.

When we're out an about in places where she wants to walk but she can't walk freely (i.e. shops, on the train etc), I'd like to get her one of those little harnesses. She will only hold my hand for a second or so, and she's so little that it's very awkward trying to bend over to hold a limp, unresponsive little hand and make sure she doesn't run off - especially as I am six months pregnant.

Whereabouts did those who have them buy the harness for their child? You know, the cute furry doggy or animal ones? Mum had one for me when I was little that was just plain, and I've seen those ones in Target but they're too boring for such an active little girl.

** This is NOT a thread on whether you think harnesses are ok or not. Just on where to buy them. THANKS**

I bought mine from a baby store, I have seen them in a few bigger baby stores. I know they can be contentious but lately we have been having lots of success with it!! Just today my parents took DS for a 45 minute walk and he loved walking the whole way, he didn't ask to be picked up once. Last weekend we also did another big walk. We are really liking it because he has the opportunity to walk, explore, stop when he wants etc. If I held his hand he would let go or just sit and refuse to move and possibly lie on the ground which, as he's 20kg makes it really really hard to bend over and pick him up.

Yeah exactly. My DD is very active and loves to walk around, but she doesn't understand anything to do with safety or not walking off. She is just in her own little world, bless her heart. Just like she should be at 14 months. But in the pram she gets restless and frustrated quite quickly, and I feel for her. She's more cooped up and confined in there than she would be toddling happily around on a harness.

I might go and have a look in Babyland or something like that tomorrow, otherwise I'll go to KMart or eBay. eBay! Of course! What can't you buy there??

Really? What section of Target did you get them in? I had quite a thorough look yesterday and didn't find any ...

There's a Target and a Toys R Us just up the road from us, so either of those would be the easiest places. A pink poodle would be perfect for her!!
