First movements were at about 14 weeks with DD. Then nothing really (I had an anterior placenta) until around 19 or 20 weeks from memory.

This time, I have had pretty steady movement starting with fluttering around 11 weeks and then gradually building up to pretty solid kicks and wriggling now at 27 weeks.

It seemed like DD was a lot stronger a lot earlier, but that could just be my memory playing tricks on me.

Both of my babies have had very vigorous movement between about 9 and 10.30 at night, but totally different habits during the day. DD also used to get the hiccups five or six times a day.

Yeah, it's really awesome when it's happening a lot, daily, and especially when they do it at pretty consistent times so you know when it's coming!

I used to like it right towards the end, when she didn't have much room and would really just be wriggling pretty constantly when she was awake. I used to be able to lower her heartrate by patting her on the bum - her bum used to stick out my left side quite a lot. Once, I hadn't felt much for a couple of days so I went to get her heartbeat monitored, and I watched what happened when I patted vs when I didn't. It was so awesome.

She also used to poke her feet out quite a lot so I'd poke them back in, and then she'd poke them out somewhere else. It turned into a game and I loved it. It's a really beautiful way to bond with your baby before it's born.

Just wait until you can see their body parts sticking out of your tummy (you can't make out what they are, they're just kind of pointy lumps), or watching your skin stretch and move and the kicks making your tummy jump out like a mouse under a blanket. It's the coolest thing ever.

Hi, with my first, I felt the first movement at 22 weeks, with second I felt movement at 15 weeks and with this pregnancy I felt the first movement at 19 weeks then not much for a few weeks then regular movement at around 21+ weeks gradually increasing to lots of movements and big somosaults around 23 weeks. The placenta is anterior with this pregnancy and it really makes a huge difference to how you feel the movement. With my previous two pregnancies, I never felt the somosault motions that I am feeling with this one. I'm 24+ weeks and DH has only felt the baby kick 3 times and even those were pretty weak, with my previous pregnancy, I could "see" the movements by 17 weeks, but not yet with this one, even the obs finds it difficult to listen to the heartbeat with a doppler, at my last visit he gave up because all he could hear was "placenta" he gave me a quick scan to see the heartbeat instead.

I had flutters from 12 weeks, got a massive happy birthday kick from someone at 17 weeks on my birthday. Than nothing till about 20 weeks & they didnt stop unless i was in labour. At one point they were playing tag team. DS would start & the girls follow.

I can't wait to see my baby stick his body parts out of my tummy, moreso for DH than me, but I've got a feeling we may miss out due to the placenta being anterior. I don't feel any movements whatsoever on the upper left hand side or middle part of my tummy at all. The movements are all on the right hand side from top to bottom, I do feel middle movements at the very bottom and towards the back and some very very low movements on the left. Anyone else had an anterior placenta and have eventually seen baby stick out an arm or a leg???
