On the speech front, it took me a bit to get used to having an extra tooth after no having on for so long. I really had to concentrate to speak clearly & now when i get tired i start to lisp again.

Speech - I actually had more trouble learning to talk again when I had the teeth out. I only have 3 teeth left on the top though so it was a huge deal. It took maybe 3 - 4 days to get use to it. AT first it felt like I had a huge mouthguard in my mouth and it was hard to talk. But in all honesty I think it was harder to learn to smile again - that big toothy grin. Eating on the other hand I still struggle with now 6 weeks later. Just not being able to feel yourself eat is weird for me, but am slowly getting use to it.I haven't noticed any change in the taste of food either.
I know that Jullian won't use gas and I don't think any of them at that practice does either, and he did give me a good reason, but for the life of me I can't remember it...sorry!I never asked about getting them all out at once - I never thought about it. I did though have 7 teeth out in one appointment, so I would say it's very possible. I walked out talking as well, so it didn't affect me to much!
With the payment plan, nothing was ever official, just sorted paid something with every appointment. We did though have to pay off the denture and that took a while and Jullian was more than happy. I would just speak to him and let him know what you can put down and how much you can pay weekly/fortnightly... I honestly believe that yes, they make money outta the patient, but they at the same time they genuinely care about you, how your feeling etc...
Hope that helps...![]()

Just wondering how you got on. I have my first appointment next friday so im nervous. Hope its all been going well.
Hey
I had to get mine done due to a combination of issues 2 years ago. Mine cost me about $1600, the extractions I had done publicly, and they were inclined to do a quarter of the mouth at a time, with the front top/bottom done last.
The pain was ok, it seemed a lot quicker and easier than I expected each time to be and healing went OK. The worst for me was the gaps between visits (once a month) especially when we got down to the last bits!! Because it was done section by section it wasn't too hard to get used to the talking but I was quite a hermit during the process.
there were so many things I couldn't eat anyway due to the fragility of what was left!
When I first got them it felt weird and I was really scared of them falling out so I use glue every day which makes them solid enough to eat an apple/raw carrot etc etc no worries at all. It probably lasts 8-12 hours before they come loose.
You can see them in this pic:
This one is a bit rude (just fingers) but it's a great close up view, lol and I'm on the right with the glasses
eta this one which is much less rude, lol and is me and my daughter (so you should be right to tell who is who!)
