Default 38+ weeks and bubs showing no signs of dropping/engaging

    Hi ladies,

I'm wanting to hear from other ladies whose bubs didn't engage until late in their first pregnancies... When did ur baby engage and how long before u went into labour?

I'm thankfully that i'm having a fairly easy pregnancy but at 38 weeks i'm already measuring 42 and i am getting nervous about how big bubs is going to be especially considering it's showing no signs of coming soon.

My DS didnt engage until labour I don't think. Well I had an ultrasound 2 days before he was born and he definately wasn't engaged then!

Oh and he was measuring 43 at 37 weeks!

    Hi

With my first, I was measuring 42 at 40 weeks and he didn't engage until I was in labour. He was 8lb 8oz. Don't worry about not being engaged yet.

i got to 39 +5 and my dd hadnt engaged. i had been losing fluid and didnt know so had a caesarian that afternoon. as it turns out dd had her head on the side and was pressing against my pelvis and was not going to drop even if i hadnt been leaking and she was allowed to stay...

thanks for sharing ur stories girls

I didn't think it was that big of an issue, but when i see the ob he tells me bubs should have dropped by now... Oh well, i guess everyone is different, it's just comforting to know that the time between bubs engaging and labour dont necessarily seem related (there are other posts where bubs engages at 32 weeks and then nothing...)

at least im not having to deal with the pelvic pain

I got to 41 +4 and never engaged! In fact it seemed to the OB after an internal that the 3 days between my appts, bub had actually gone back up higher! I had an elective c/s in the end, H was far to comy in there!

At 39wks my first was breeched and i was told to come in the next day for a c. Next day came and she was head down. She didn't engage until labour started. Dont worry about not engaging, they tend to do what the want when they want. lol

Both my girls didn't engage until labour. I went in to spontaneous labour both times...at 41 + weeks.
Just be patient....the good part is they had perfectly rounded heads!
