Can anyone recommend a book about "sensory integration"?
I am new to this term and want to get a better understanding of it and how I can help my DD.
TIA

OOOOHHHHH I'm so cross!!I just typed out a whole reply and our stupid internet dropped out.
Grrrrrrr.....
Ok, the gist of it is, Anna Jean Ayers who first coined the term and did all the research on Sensory Integration Dysfunction wrote a book called `Sensory Integration Dysfunction and the Child'.
Do you think this is what your DD has? Or has she actually been diagnosed and now you're just looking at doing some research? Either way, it's not a very understood disorder as far as I'm aware, but this book might get you started. I think it's more in the nature of a psychological text, but still you might find it very helpful.
Good luck.

If you don't agree with me .... it means you haven't been listening ....
Thank you Chesby for taking the time to re-type your message! I hate it when that happens.
DD hasn't actually been diagnosed yet, but has just started going to Occupational Therapy and the problems we have with her are mostly related to her senses.
So I'm not sure if she actually has the disorder, but either way I figure reading a book on this subject will give me some insight into how her brain and body function.
Thanks for the name of the book. I'll check it out.![]()
