I put Rose in the category of 'filler names'.

Those middle names like Grace, Lee, Louise, Marie etc that just seem agonizingly popular.

I wouldn't say the parents didnt put any thought into naming their child, but most often I find they just 'settled' with it because it was easy...JMO.

Haha, my middle name is Louise and my sisters is Maree. Our first names weren't really popular 24 and 26 years ago. There were alot of Louise middle names in my circles of peoples at that time though.

Lol well check out my hugely original name...Rebekah Leigh boring, just spelt different!!

I dunno, Im just dislike these names people throw together that they havent even really bothered with yanno? Like, I know Grace and Lee goes with everything but EVERYONE has it!

Yeah I kind know what you mean. But I guess if the name goes then it just does. It could also be a family name though and some thought would have gone into it then.

I am a big fan of names that no one else will have. We almost no one anyway. I don't think there will be to many bubs with my girls middle name and that is awesome as it is a family link and means alot to us.

Really??? Just settled with it? or a "filler" name? How many people do you know that just settled with it? I don't know any that just settled for a name.

Perhaps the names are amazingly popular because they are lovely, feminine names & people have named their children after family members or some other tradition therefore of course they will be used time & time again.

I actually found your comments a little offensive. I certainly did not "settle" with any of my childrens names & my parents did not "settle" with mine or my sisters names (they are also names you mentioned).

I also have quite popular middle names for my daughters - but like the past two posters have said, they are family names.
The Maree is my middle name, along with my mum's and two grandmothers. The Rose was my grandmother who has recently passed away's first name.

While they may be more popular...they have meaning to us.
