    Hi,
Yes its a handy thing isnt it, you need to ring your child care centre, or FDC and ask if they are an approved or registered carer, yes these are different, one means you need to pay all the care weekly then you get back payed by centrelink, the other means centrelink pay what your entitled too and then you pay whats left of your weekly share.
To apply, get your carers provider number,(if you can not get this, the centres full name is ok, as they should have them on recored if they are a CCB providing centre) handy to have your medicare and taxfile number on you as well and call 136150 and apply for it, you can chose to recieve it weekly or as a lump sum at the end of the year,
The amount of care you are entitled to depends on the amount of money your combined income is.
You can also go into a centrelink office and grab a form to fill in, but I feel over the phone is much easier!
    Hope that helps Good luck!

I only just checked into CCB last Friday as i'm putting DD#1 into a daycare to further her skills with other children plus she is starting to get bored at home. Also the Child Care Centre provides a kinder teacher to go there 3 or 4 times a week which is excellent for next year.

You are entitled to a percentage of how much CCB you or the Centre gets then you make up the difference yourself. There is also a processing fee of i think $30 which of course you pay straight up.

If you contact Centrelink now they are able to tell you on the phone how much you're entitled to before enrolling your child. Just make sure you've been into the Centre first to get forms and whatnot so that you can tell Centrelink how much the daily/weekly fee is then they can work it out from there.

    Goodluck
