Birthday cake's on the southside

It's DP's birthday in a few weeks.... and I want to get him a nice cake made from somewhere... not sure exactly what yet... but a nice one!

Does anyone know of places that do "pro" cakes... like with the edible images, or in the shapes of things etc.

Try Michels patisserie - I know my Sil got my nephews from there and it was delish. Or really just ask at your local bakeries, they will probably be able to do something for you!

It's cheaper to get a image of anything you want take it to a bakery that turns it in to a edible image then go to woolworths and order a cake choose what ever colours you want and give them the pic to put on the cake from wollies is about $30 for a big decent one and about 12 bucks for the image to be made at a bakery.

If you like icecream cakes, Cold Rock has quite a nice selection, have a look at their website, am doing for dd's birthday, $40 for small (10-15 people), $60 for medium (which is quite big) and you get 10% discount for ordering online. And you get to choose 3 different icecream flavours and mixers for it. Wendy's does them too, believe these are a bit cheaper and have a bit of sponge in them but haven't tried them.
