    Default Curves weigh in...

After a month of being a member at Curves gym I had my weigh/measure day...
They measured my upper arm a.k.a 'faloobins', bust, waist, abdomen, hips and each thigh.
What a wonderful surprise (although I have been working hard)...
I am very proud to say that in total I lost
    25cms and 2.2kg
not too worried about the kgs because I'm telling myself muscle weighs more than fat and that's why I only lost 2.2kg
My name and stats are now written up on a balloon for all to see...I'm quite chuffed!

don't focus on the weight itself, that can change day to day for any number of reasons. Keep looking at the cms you have lots cos that is a great effort!

    a member at Curves gym
Yay, we have a Curves gym opening up near us pretty soon - that's great that they weigh and measure you. I was going to join up as soon as the doors opened so now I'm definitely there with bells on. Hope they are all the same. How do you find it? Is it more like a circuit training or something else? Ive only ever been to a gym 1 time and even then I was left on my own - I thought it was a bit dangerous so I never went back.

Ive tried doing a bit of treadmill work at home, but that's boring and definitely has no inspiring atmosphere.

Sorry for all the questions, I just got a bit excited

I love it!!! It's a half hour circuit workout - at first I honestly thought that I wouldn't be able to achieve much in 1/2 an hour but it does get the heart pumping and the sweat going!!
You walk in and the circuit is set up, there's always at least one instructor at ours just to make sure everyone is using the equipment properly. The equipment doesn't have weights that you have to change, the resistance is dependant on how hard you workout which is great. In between each machine is a square 'cool down' mat where you just jog on the spot.
There's music always going and an announcement every time you have to change machines. They also have a part where you get off the machines and take your pulse. Then there's a graph up on the wall so you can see if you're working at 50, 70, 80% (they like you to stay at 70% but I always get up around 80% - I've got private health and ambulance, what's the worry!!!)
There are no set times to the circuit, you just come in and join in...it's great! Another big thing is that there are NO MIRRORS at Curves...who wants to see all those jiggling jangling bits anyway!

    WOW, that really sounds great.

Thanks for all of that info. I'm definitely joining up now. The one that's about to open up says that its for women of all ages so that's also good news - no guys with their googly eyes peering at you.

Sounds fab. oooh I'm so excited now. I will let you know once I join.

    Thanks again.
