Default 7 month old never comes off the breast...

    Honestly, it drives me bonkers.
    Q just feeds forever.
My friend gets up for night feeds and her 3 month old takes 15 minutes.
I'm still timing 20 mins each side so that I can have an end point in sight!

Does anyones else's babe never pull off?
None of my kids have EVER pulled off!

    tips? advice?

Q has no dummy... should I be bothered introducing one at 7 months?
    Is it just comfort sucking?

I had the same problem and with DD and she is now 8 months I started taking her off when she seemed to have stopped sucking so frequently after 15minutes usually and then offering the other side and she didn't want feeding anymore frequentley so I think it was comfort. She now takes about 10minutes each side longer first thing in the morning. All you can so it try it and see if feeding gets anymore frequent or not.

    Good luck.

    Thanks Fozzie, might try that.
So you wait till they slow the feeding? Then take off and offer other boob?

I listen for the swallowing (or lack thereof) and take her off when the 'feeding' send and the comfort suck begins.... We don't have a dummy - won't take one so better to try getting bub off and comforting back to sleep....

Yeah not much swallowing going on. We also have a dummy she has always had it but is happier to have it now.

I know what you mean..I just pried DD off of me to have 5 minutes to myself....
I just tell myself that she is either teething or having a growth spurt, and she will grow out of it. ... But it is driving me batty, and has for the last year.
