Default i think i'm taking too long to bf...

    my baby is 3 months...

he's quite fussy when feeding. Sometimes he would refuse my breast and refuse to eat for up to half an hour...after a while...he eventually gives in and starts to suck...then he takes a long time...and by then he's really tired and he always falls asleep and doesnt leave much time for activities. He is really hard to wake up.

how long should i be breastfeeding each breast for??? approximately??

it usually takes him about 1.5 hours to totally finish..what should I do?? how can i speed him up?

Everyone is different but that does seem like a long time.

Is he asleep through a big part of it, because the sucking is a reflex and they will continue to suck while they are asleep which is why I introduced a dummy.

Perhaps your flow rate is very slow in which case some herbal tablets called blessed thistle may help. They are supposed to increase the flow rate.

I would try calling Australian Breastfeeding Association to run it by them first.

    Good luck

Also my baby always slept after a feed, and never fitted into that sleep-feed-play routine, none of my friend's babies did either.
