    Default Jetstar..Grr.. help please

Hi there, i am flying from Darwin to Cairns at the end of the month and i have a few questions, i rang Jetstar but after 20min of going through the whole english-general enquiries-hold please, a japanese lady on a recording said some non-english words that i obviously didnt understand and then they hung up on me. My questions are still unanswered.

    1. Do i need identification for my infant?

    2. How much baggage is allowed for baby (pram, car seat ect) and how much is it to sign in extra baggage.

    3. (my flight will leave from the international airport) If i do have extra baggage do i have to check it in 3hrs beforehand (website says so) and do i really have to check in 2hrs beforehand, even though im only domestic.

The flight leaves at 5 in the morning (i have a 15mth old, joy) so if i have to be there early i have to get at the airport at 2 in the morning. Grr

    can anybody help???

    TIA

I can answer your first question.. You will need birth certificate I am fairly sure, well we have had to when DSS has previously traveled.

As for the rest, you would probably be best to ring the customer care line.. Sorry

    Hi Hun,

Let's see if i can help you some....i lived in Darwin & have just moved back to Cairns....

No you dont need ID for bub, ive travelled with my DD many times & they have never asked. As long as you have booked that you have a baby thats all you need.

When ive travelled by my self ive checked in my suitcase, a pram & a car seat with no probs. They dont classify your pram etc as excess luggage - they are necessities when travelling with a baby.

In regards to your flight being international, id say yes, you would still have to check in early. I have always had to but to be safe, ring the airport...they are usually pretty helpful.
And if not....you'll have to try Jetstar again.

    Hope some of this helps.

    Happy Travels

    EF

I took the birth certificates, but when we travelled domestically they just wanted a medicare card. You might want to take both.

If your flight is at 5am it's probably one of the first of the day. I'd ask at the airport what time they actually open, because unless they're 24hours, no-one will be there before 4am!

Once we took pram and car seat and we got charge an extra $160. I wasnt happy at all, and no talking or begging would change their minds. It goes on weight im pretty sure so just be ready to pay extra but I have heard some dont have to at all I guess its luck of the draw really. I normally dont take anything on flights anymore I just hire them.

I rang them today and i get two free pieces of baby luggage (prm , and car seat) and i can take an extra 5kg for $25, 10kg for $50, ect.
I have to take the car seat and pram as they are mine and im going home. I dont need a BCert a medicare card will do. Sounds good to me.
