child care lables?

for those that use child care

how many lables do you have and for what items? clothes,nappies, bags,bottles?? ect

how much did you pay and where did you get them from?

did anyone make there own labels? how

and did anyone not label any items?? if so what? and did you loose it because it wasnt labeled?

do you still loose things if there labeled and what happens if something is lost at childcare?

I worked in childcare, my advice is perminant marker on the size tabs of clothes, intials does the trick, the carers can work it out.

Label all socks with a perminant marker, socks are the worst. Shoes as well, on the under side, just initials.

Also on anything else you send along.

Oh, and one of those plastic name tags on the school bag is great too, but... perminant marker works also

Great thing about perminant marker is its almost no effort, very little cost involved, and if they fade, just write over the top.

Just what I think anyway.

I bought stickers for my son's bottles and food containers online at brightstarkids.

You can pick your own colour and they have some cute designs to go on it. They also have iron-on labels for clothes. I think they are really cute.

They delivered really quickly. I think I got them within 2 days.

I bought stick on and iron on labels from Identity Direct.

You can get vinyl stick ons for bottles, shoe labels, iron on ones for clothes and bag labels.

They do a special pack with mixed things in it.

Also Stuck On You do them also.

Permanent marker, or fabric marker is all that's needed. If you want to go for the labels, get a bigger pack as they're more economical and you'll use them through school, but they aren't a necessity.

My gripe at the moment, actually, is that a lot of school clothes are coming with the size tab in black. Where am I meant to write their name?

and did anyone not label any items?? if so what? and did you loose it because it wasnt labeled?Jumpers and hats were the main culprits, but I generally found not many things went missing at childcare. Or were often quickly located when you pointed out what was missing.

At school, lunchboxes seems to be the most lost item. And the lost property box is full of labelled clothing, but it is the child/parent responsibility to check the lost property box.

Drink bottles seem to disappear, no matter how well they are labelled.

i bought a lable maker from big W for $50 and a thing of iron on lablel refills for arouns $12.

how i see it is i have 2 kids and wanting more, if i buy labels for everything i will be forking out a heck of a lot more money over the years....what ummm, label most things until year 6 (ie:jumpers and blazers) so per kid (if i start them in day care like i did DD1 at 3-4) i have 8-9 years of labeling ahead of me

i can for see this label maker being a god send

i dont have to worry about drink bottles or lunch boxes just yet, DD1s preschool provides food, drink bottle and hat....so all i have to worry about right now is clothing and bag.

Then can be either ironed,stuck or sewed.

I stick them to the clothing tag, bag and lunch box.

Great value.

I fine it best to label as kids tend to have the same clothes, and it just makes it easier for the daycare.
