    Default Spelling of a name: Niamh/Neve

    Please help me decide which spelling to go with.

    how do you pronounce them? The same?
    Me 37 single mum and second year student nurse 2012 at ACU Banyo
    DD 6/4/08 at 29+4 weeks
    DD 7/10/09 at 35 weeks

    Yes. This is what worries me about going with the traditional spelling. Will anyone know how to pronounce it?

    Unfortunately I think not (they won't know how to spell it). I have this problem.

    I think if it's a first name you might consider going with the anglicised spelling, as most won't even get close to pronouncing Niamh correctly.

    Oops sorry Pronounced like 'Eve' with an N on the front.

    I would go with Neve. I never knew how to pronounce Niamh until recently. I asked a teacher friend who has seen them all.

    Well until I saw this thread I didn't know they were pronounced the same!
    It's one of those names I avoid having to read out because I had no freaking clue!

    So I picked Neve
    Me + DP + DD + DS = <3

    I knew how to say Niamh

    I have heard of a few people spelling it that way.
