Unfortunately I think not (they won't know how to spell it). I have this problem.
I think if it's a first name you might consider going with the anglicised spelling, as most won't even get close to pronouncing Niamh correctly.
Still...how do you pronounce it????????

I would go with Neve. I never knew how to pronounce Niamh until recently. I asked a teacher friend who has seen them all.

Well until I saw this thread I didn't know they were pronounced the same!
It's one of those names I avoid having to read out because I had no freaking clue!
