    Talking Layette

    Who has a traditional Layette???

My nan knitted me one for my DS at time no one knew it was a boy but either sex anyway tradition is to wear the dress, cardi, bonnet, booties, mittens.
Mine you DH didn't let DS wear the dress at all which i thought was a shame.
Its ready to go again- the works. i love the layette it just makes a baby look so well baby in the whole knitted gear
    The going home outfit

I just love good old knitted clothes- very rare to come by these days

I make them but for some reason never got round to making one for DS. He had lots of other crocheted things. I'm in the middle of making a modern on now. Little hat, booties, pants, jumper and a teddy bear. I think they're very cute.

I used one for my three girls. The hospital staff always comment on how great it is see someone put their baby in something other than a wonder suit to go home.
Is blessed to have 6 wonderful kids.

I have a wole drawer full made by well intentioned rellies. Aside from once wearing one of the cardies DD hasn't worn them. Yes they're cute, all pink and girly but she has eczema so I won't put her into anything that's not cotton. At first she hated having her clothes changed so she lived in wondersuits- comfy for her, not fiddly an no need to change her unless it is soiled.

They are cute but so very impractical!
