Default I want to change my daughter's name

My daughter is now almost 6 weeks old, and I am really unsure about the name we chose. Her name is Sasha, and since her birth no one has said they like the name. Many people have assumed we have had a boy because of the name. When I look at my daughter I just don't see the name Sasha. I am thinking we should give her a more feminine name like Chloe. Am I too late? Does any one like the name Sasha?

It's not what other people think - it's what you think that matters!! I know a couple of girls called Sasha, and actually to me, it's a more a girl's name than a boys.

I'd prefer it to Chloe - it's just that bit different

Hmm I'm really starting to wonder about people's insecurities about what other people think lately (just have noticed an increase of these types of posts) It shouldn't matter what other people think.

If however you feel you don't like it, then I think it's probably fine still to change it, just contact the births deaths and marriages place and they should let you know.

eta. for the record, I have always thought of Sasha as more of a girls name, only just recently learnt it was a boys name as well..

Personally I like Sasha more than Chloe. But it shouldn't matter what others think, don't change her name just bc you think no one likes it. She is your daughter. I have found that rellies that don't like a name tend to warm to it after a while after they get used to it.

Then by all means change it! She's not going to know the difference at this stage, so if you want to change it, go for it!!

We're going to change our son's name, and he's nearly 9 months old!! On his birth certificate he is Roman, but we've called him "Rome" since day one, and like you, when I look at him I dont see a Roman I see Rome!

Just make sure you pick the name YOU like, not one to please the world..

I loooove the name Sasha and we would have named DD1 Sasha if our Surname didn't make her sound like something you should eat! I had the most beautiful friend once named Sasha. If you don't think it suits her though then maybe you should change it but I love it.

I think Sasha is more a girls name than boys. I wouldn't worry about what others think, just go with what you like. When I was pregnant with my ds I liked Micah then changed my mind and my family said thank god we didn't like it (or something like that). Than we changed again and named him Micah anyway. They haven't said anything and lots of people like it.

    Unless I love a name I wouldn't mentioned it.
