Default Help with choosing a Dr at westmead!

Hi All.......I am suffering from a failed IVF attempt unfortunatly we cannot afford to do it again through Monash on the Gold Coast as the cycle will cost us around $9000 I have recently been in touch with Westmead Fertility there is ICSI cycle is going to cost us $1950 I can believe the cost difference so it would be cheaper to fly back and forth from Sydney then to do another cycle up here!

Anyway without carrying on too much I just wanted to know if anyone has an experience with any of the Dr's below or can reccommend one so I can get started....

    Dr Nalini Gayer
    Dr Derek Lok
    Dr Lorance Melhem
    Dr Tien-Ming Hng
    Dr Samuel Soo
    Dr Howard Smith

Any info or experience with these Dr would be awesome!

    Thanks Ladies!!!!!

    Hi Petalsinthewind

I have been refferred to DR Gayer but was unable to get an appointment before the 23/10/2009 which is a little dissapointing. I have heard mixed things about her from 'She is really nice to she is really blunt and not very sympathetic' so i cant really help you sorry.

You will need a referral from your gynae before you can go their though.

    Good Luck

    Sarah

I saw Dr Soo last Monday for my 1st IVF appt. He was very nice, thorough, easy to talk to and fairly quick to get into. I am hoping to start my first cycle next month - there is not a waiting list, sometimes the clinic have to put you back a month to start a cycle because they have become so busy.

    Good luck!

Dr Smith is wonderful, he called me prior to my epu to discuss some results with me and he's not even my treating Dr. I see Dr Fong and think she is fantastic also!

You will deal with the nurses much more than the Drs and you cannot fault them.

I think the upfront option is only $1450. We went with the claimback option this cycle.
