Boiling and Sterilizing

Hi,

I'm just wondering when people stopped boiling water for their babies? Sometimes when I'm giving bubs juice ie 50mls juice and 50mls water, I consider just giving him water straight from the tap. But I always boil. He is 10 months.

When did people stop sterilising as well?

I started giving tap water around 12 months & for DS3 who is 2 months, I don't worry about sterilising. My bottles get scrubbed then put through the dishwasher which is boiling hot anyway. As soon as you take the lid off your steriliser, they are no longer completely sterile anyway.

A lot of dr's & nurses now say there's no need to sterilise, but as long as companies keep making those products, they will keep pushing the fact you should do it otherwise no one will buy their stuff.
