Default How would you react to someone who said they disliked your childs name?

Just spinning off from the other threads. lol

And not trying to start anything okay. hehehe

But seriously, how would you react if someone said they disliked/hated the name/names you chose for your child?

Would you reply, ignore or just think why say anything? Just keep it to yourself.

    Your thoughts?

I would say well, you don't have to like it.

My DD has an unusual name and normally I get "oh, that's pretty and unusual."

If I knew it wasn't a silly name it wouldn't bother me because it's kind of down to personal preference and everyone has different taste

but if I called DD blossom moonbottom or something then I might rethink my choice if enough people expressed dislike, I figure if that many adults hate it then there's a good chance she might and at the end of the day it's about her, who actually has to live with the name.

But I might chuck an indignant "how dare you?" type tanty first

If they didnt like it cause its not a name they liked then thats fine.
Not liking it cause "why would you name your kid that" or "he will get teased" or because its "too different" then i would laugh and assume they were shallow

See i dont understand that. Why should someone not name there child a name or feelk they have to change there name they love because someone might tease or disapprove...shouldnt peoples mentality change to not being so judgemental and shallow??
Isnt that bullying if people have to change names because of it.

i would probably turn around and go...yeah well at least i didn't name my child XYZ (insert their/their childs name there)
    i'm a bit snarky though

i guess it depends on how they told me they hated it though.

My brother didn;t like DD's name

And I was told that it wasn't original and boring.

Thats cool with me, because I like it and didn't care. her name suits her very much.

By the way, her name is Isobel Grace...IMO super pretty

I would say- that is very interesting- because I've never liked your name, but didn't want to be rude.
I can't go to bed, someone is wrong on the internet.
