Ooh, this thread is a carcrash waiting to happen! As a paeds nurse I've seen a lot of weird names and I think Afrique, [sounds like A Freak], was not a wise choice. Girls named after perfumes or designer labels can be a bit chav. I looked after a little girl called Lezza, [pronounces Leeza - apparently], which was unfortunate, as are all the poor little Candidas, Melenas and Veruccas out there. But the worst names are inevitable the comedy matching pair twin names that some poor children are saddled with. Jim and Beam...

Oh how I could I forget litttle Kerosene, whose mother saw her name at a petrol station and thought Ker-oh-senny was a sweet name!

My aunt was the lucky midwife who delivered her.
    me (23) & her (26) & the fur baby
    & bugaloo edd 19th november 2013!!!

There has been a whole heap of really stupid names suggested on here lately It's cool to be original but some "names" are just ridiculous.

I went to school with twins called Harmony and Melody, that was bad then but some of the names ppl are coming out with now are a lot worse.

Yeah that was my friends daughters name...i think its a cute name. Personally i cant stand common names. I think you only get one chance to name your child and to me everyone is unique and i HATE sharing my name with people (i know its almost impossible to not share a name) but i dont understand. We named our DS a name i couldnt find in any baby books or even google.....

    That's classic.

I know someone who named their little boy Elmo. Now, I know it was a genuine name about 80 years ago, but now it is just a furry red puppet!! Kind of cute for a baby but not for a boy or a man....

i know a lady had twins called them melanie and melody , she reckons it was because she was worried about notr being able to tell them apart so she could call them both mel , how dumb is that , also cant stand matching multiple names milly and molly, jim and kim that sort of thing

not a big fan of naming kids after vehicles or fruit but thats just me. we have decided to keep an irish theme with any subsequent children and DF likes the idea of saints names chucked in there at the same time (i think he just likes to challenge me LOL)

Yes it is a cute name.. just wonder how it'll be taken when she's older?
I don't like common names either. We named our DD Ezaria which the only other one I'd heard of was Azariah Chamberlain (we changed the spelling but it was actually taken from Ezara meaning little treasure).
Since she's been around I have heard of others though.
