Ideas for present for new dad?

Hi everyone

it's my DH's birthday next saturday. Our 6 week old and I would love to give him a wonderful surprise present that will make him feel special (esp as a new daddy)..

any ideas??

When DD1 was a baby I got DH a photo frame with a photo of him and DD in it and a money box with a note that said something like, "for you to put all the money to spend on me" or something along those lines.

My Dh turned 30 a month after bubba boy was born. I had no idea what to get - he's hard to shop for normally but being so tired and whatnot my brain wasnt really with it.

Last minute I hit upon the idea of personalising something. I got him a schedual/dairy thing (as he uses those) and made a cover for it. I just got some thick material cut a sqaure hole in the front sewed some thin plastic tablecloth behind the hole so it looked like a photo frame. Stuck a photo of bubba boy in there and glued it down. (If that makes sense.) I dont really think thats a great gift for most guys but you could personalise something he does use.

I also got him one of those digital photo frames that play music and flip through photos that he could take to work and put on his desk. I live in Japan so it was cheap enough - about $50 dollars if remember correctly. The one thing about that frame was I got it when they were still kinda a new thing so it didnt have a power plug only ran on batteries. It eats through them so hubby doesnt use it much. But it's the thought that counts right? Plus he kept the photos updated and when anyone asked him about bubba boy he just turned it on then. But if you go that route - look for something that runs on power.

also there is a website that you can get nacklaces, cufflinks, book marks etc with your baby's finger pint pressed into a little piece of metal and have their name or birthdate engraved in it too. if he wears that kind of stuff..

If you look a Queen Bee's website they have baby bags for Dads or you could get a baby carrier for him to use... otherwise as a first time Dad I am sure he will just love a special Happy Birthday Daddy card

"Why I Love My Daddy"

My DS was 3 weeks old when his Daddy had his birthday. I got a picture of my DS from the day he was born done into a one of the Crystle thingies that you shine the light through ( sorry I cant think of what it is actually called)

i got dp a photo frame which said "i love my daddy" and put a photo of him and dd in it

at big w they have coffee mugs,stubbie holders,key rings,shirts and mouse pads that u can get photos printed on 2,i got dp a mug and a mouse pad as he uses the computer alot with pics of dd on it

u could make him a card with hand prints,special keepsakes like that are always nice
