Default Things to do in Coffs

    Howdy,

I'm a regular visitor to Coffs but am wanting to know about some unusual things to do with kids (all under 10) in Coffs. We've done all the usual stuff, love going to Bellingen & Dorrigo and am sick of going home feeling like we just went to the shops every day.

So what cool and unearthed things are there to do in Coffs? Tell me where your secret place is!!

Also - any good baby / kids shops that are a little left of centre? Looking for organic goods, slings, organic food ideas

    Cheers!

They're opening some new event at the Big Banana soon. We also have the Junglebungle which is like an indoors playground. That's all I can think of right now

I don't actually live there but my mum does so I am trying to think of what we do when we are there.

i can't remember the exact name of the place but the porpoise pit or something???? Has dolphin/porpoise shows, seals turtles etc.
Trying to think of other things we do when we go there. My kids love just walking along the mariner and up to the look out. All the boats and ocean to look at. (We live in the middle of nowhere though so that is exciting). My mum lives up near dorrigo. What about georges gold mine up on the mountain on the way to dorrigo. Not sure if its even open but I think they do tours and stuff????

Hmmmm thats about all I have.

Oh God! Not the gold mine! Its sooooo boring hahahahahaha. Been there, done that

Pet Porpoise Pool is cool. They're going to renovate and extend it in the next few years. We used to have a zoo, but it closed down 2 years ago

Yeah it closed down before, but we were told it was sold to some Japanese people who were going to renovate it and start again. Yet 2 years ago they got a bulldozer in and demolished the place. There are no intentions of rebuilding. When I drive past it on the Highway I always feel sad when looking at the piles of rubble.

We don't live in coffs but get there at least once a year for a holiday.

We went to the zoo a few years ago and ended up walking out disgused at the state of the enclosures - good thing its gone.

We always do the porpoise pool - every visit- kids never get bored with it (neither do I)

Ice skating at the big banana is always fun.

Other than that I don't know - we usually just hang at the beach - picnics and BBQs at the beach.

thanks we have done the porpoise pool lots too, kids love it. There's a new indoor playground behind the greenhouse tavern, but it wasn't that good. Apparently the other one is much better.

Oh, i also found a shop called baby warehouse, they hire out prams, cots and other bits. Very handy if looking to save space and not too pricey.
