Default No fetus/heartbeat only sac at 6 weeks?

Well im supposedly about 6 weeks 3 days pg with bub #2 and went for my scan today. They couldnt see anything except a sac and some blood around the sac, which is kinda the reason I had a small bleed recently. I have had BTs done two weeks ago and showed a HCG level of 3000+ and also have done 2 HPTs just before and theyre still VERY positive.

I have to get more bloods next week (Wed) and book in for another scan in 2 weeks...

    Im so worried

I thought I was about 8 weeks when I went this time but turned out I was about 6 weeks instead (which fits for me as I have irregular AFs and DH was here during the timeline that she gave me) and only a sac and maybe a fetus inside but much too early to see. I was told not to come back for at least two weeks which it will be come Monday and of course I've worried myself over it and don't want to go back to my GP and then back to them just in case something is actually not right.

But yeah I am aware at least from reading on here that it's not uncommon for that to happen be not as far as you think or not to see what you are expecting, heart beat until after 7 weeks etc but when it happens to you it's a bit more worrying though isn't it?

Hope your bubba is in there safely and happily growing away in there for you.

    Hi

I can understand how stressed and upset you feel right now With my DD, I had a bleed at 6 weeks and lost a large clot which was assumed to be a miscarriage. I had a scan the following day and bub was in there measuring 6w2d but no heartbeat. We were told that the pregnancy wasn't viable and were absolutely devastated. We decided to get a 2nd opinion and a week later there was our little baby floating around happily with a perfect heartbeat The scan showed another clot of blood next to the sac that our fertility specialist said would come away over the following few weeks and was nothing to worry about. Other than some light bleeding later on in my pregnancy, it never really came out but that is probably because I was using progesterone pessaries.

The fact that you are still getting very positive HPT's must be a good sign. I had done a couple of HPT's following my bleed and they were significantly lighter than they were a weeks prior so I was convinced it was all over. I know its an awful time while waiting for another scan. Your emotions are all over the place- the 1 week wait between the two scans for me was pure HELL. I didn't know whether we had lost our baby or not and one minute I'd be super positive, the next minute I'd be a sobbing mess. Hang in there. I will pray that everything is aok with your little bub

My SIL had this too and she went on to have a beautiful baby girl. Sometimes it's just too early to see bub.
Is blessed to have 6 wonderful kids.

I had been told by my fertility clinic they don't do an U/S until after 7 weeks for that very reason - it's too early to see a HB. Hopefully all works out!!

Thanks to everyone who replied...it seems it is quite a common thing to happen and I am thinking positively. I have an appt with my GP on Wednesday for blood tests and will get the results back on Thursday. Then Ill book a scan in for when I am approx 8 weeks along and hopefully we see something.
