Default Chocolate milk for toddler, WDYT?

I just had a case of chocolate flavoured formula arrive for DS, as he looks so much younger than his two years and still has a bottle (cannot cope with sippy cups) I am anticipating all the looks we will get at my toddler drinking chocolate milk from a bottle .

WDYT will I get lots of stares and head shaking .

I see people feeding toddlers coke and fanta, so chokkie milk prolly isn't that bad. I do wonder why the manufacturers feel the need to bring out a choc flavoured formula though... it's meant to a breast milk replacement, not a treat. *shrugs*

I think with children already growing up super obese it would be a terrible thing to start introducing flavoured formula to kids because it would encourage them to seek sweet stuff.

You probably will, but just try not to worry about what people think. Sometimes I give DS a milo drink in his straw cup as we leave the house and frankly I don't give a toss what anyone thinks.....but nobody actually seems to notice TBH, and because I'm not even thinking about it I don't even think about what others might be thinking.

Anyway, you know what is in the bottle, and that is all that matters. Sometimes I give DS diluted organic grape juice in his straw cup and I imagine people probably think it's red cordial, but I really don't care what they think because I know it's a healthy drink.

    I will say yes.

But you know what? I don't give a rats what my baby eats anymore, as long as she eats. It is hard enough finding ANY food my DD will eat, than having to worry about whether she is eating super foods etc

I used to worry so much and only ever offer her stuff that was completely healthy for her. She didn't like it as much as I persisted. I gave in and started putting salt in her food (shock horror). And you know what? She is FINALLY getting the hang of eating!

Anyway, to answer your question: Yes
When I cry, I am not being naughty or misbehaving; I am not being unreasonable. Please listen to me when I am feeling this way. I know it's hard to listen to me cry. Listen to me so that I don't repress these feelings and turn bitter when I get older. Please don't distract me. I need to deal with these feelings. Offer me hugs and support. Stay with me when I cry. Listen.. Keep listening..

Sorry just to be clear this is the stuff that gets delivered:

    http://www.nutricia.com.au/clinical/...ultifibre.aspx

It's classed as food for special medical purposes so 99.9% of children do not have access to it or need it anyway KWIM.

We have had cases of vanilla flavour delivered but this is our first case of chocolate so just wondering how high the stare and disaproval factor will be .

I'm one of those people who lets the kids have everything - in moderation.

I truly believe if you never allow your child sugar when they get older they are more likely to have a sweet tooth.

My 18 month old has a very weak chocolate milk most days (Her brother has it every day he is 4 and only just starting to drink milk due to being lactose intolerant)

I seriously doubt a bit of chocolate milk will cause obesity - as long as they have a good varied diet and lots of exercise they will be fine.

I have no doubt people will judge you. You either need to try to ignore them, or keep the chocolate milk for treats at home.

yes you'll probably get a heap of disapproving stares - what a terrible mother you must be!!! LOL

This just serves to demonstrate that we can't judge what we see.

Hmmmm....... I wonder if they make a special formula that looks like coke - cos I have to admit I judge and disapprove if I see a child with coke in their bottle

If you are happy that is all that matters,

I give my son warm chocolate milk every day when it is cold

    It has
    banana
    oats
    drinking chocolate
some oil from the health foor store
    milk (full fat)
    and prunes

it looks just like chocolate milk, and people can judge me all they like, i know he is getting some gooodess...
ALso I get milk from the food court all them time when I go to the shopping centre it is in a milkshake cup and you should seee the looks I get... But how do these people giving me the looks know if it is milk, wine, coke, water, vodka... I'm the mum and the one that needs to worry....
