Default Whats the BEST advice you have ever been given?

In light of the depressing, funny and frustrating 'What is the worst advice you have ever been given?' thread, I thought we needed a BEST advice one.

Best advice I was ever given:
Relax about it and cuddle your baby.

When I was a brand new Mum ( seems so long ago) I was fretting about this and that and DS1 was cranky and crying a lot.
I actually employed this.. I relaxed about it all. I fed him when I thought he wanted it and burped and cuddled other times, if he was awake he was in my arms. He immediately became a settled and content baby.
    It had worked.

I pass this one on to mums to be too

"Take the advice you like, ignore what you don't and do what works for you".
Give us that grand word "woman" once again, and let's have done with "lady"; one's a term full of fine force, strong, beautiful, and firm, fit for the noblest use of tongue or pen; and one's a word for lackeys. - Ella Wheeler Wilcox

Not to listen to too much advice - you will figure most of it out as you go.

    Take some time for yourself!

You do everything for the children, you need to focus on yourself from time to time.

My mum told me that one too, worded a little different but same meaning.

You need to fall in love with your baby or child. Its not always an instant thing.

You can be a mum and still be you.

all your bub needs is love, food and sleep.

Just love your baby no baby is spoilt with love.

    go with your instincts.

    ask for help!

Feeling overwhelmed is NOT a sign of failure.
    Mum to 3 kids.

I walk the line, I walk the line.

When I became newly single my mum gave me some wonderful advice.

"If you decide to take a man home, don't bring him home. Go to his place so at least he doesn't need to know where you live"
Single mummy to one on earth but I'll never forget the ones in heaven
life is like riding a bike. To keep your balance you have to keep moving.
