    Now that sounds yuk!

You can take codine but i doubt that will do anything other than take the pain away. Try Fuss nose spray, its just saline so you can use it till your hearts content with no issues.

I'v had the same cold this week -

I checked with one of the pharmacists at the hospital I work at - you can take lemsip original/max (but not the flu strength one) for the headcold part, and also Cepacol for the sore throat.

Both are classified as Catergory A in Pregnancy - the safest level there is. This means

    Category A
Drugs which have been taken by a large number of pregnant women and women of childbearing age without any proven increase in the frequency of malformations or other direct or indirect harmful effects on the fetus having been observed.

(I also checked out Tamiflu and that is catergory B1
    Category B1
Drugs that have been taken by only a limited number of pregnant women and women of childbearing age, without an increase in the frequency of malformation or other direct or indirect harmful effects on the human fetus having been observed. Studies in animals[1] have not shown evidence of an increased occurrence of fetal damage. )

    Rug up and stay warm!!
    Hope this helps.

Yuck! I hate being sick while pregnant.

Take panadol for your aches and pains. You can safely take Fess, but some over-the-counter nose sprays such as Sinex are stronger and a safe too.

Polaramine is also classified as Category A (ie safe for pregnancy) - this is an anti-histamine and will help with the sneezing and clear up some sinus problems, but also may make you sleepy, so watch out! Claratyne and all the other allergy tablets are Category B - so should be safe too.

Stepsils are fine for your sore throat, but I like honey & lemon drinks. Take the juice of a lemon, a tblsp of honey and boiling water in a coffee mug and sip while still hot. Or try gargling panadol soluble.

Otherwise try to keep warm, get plenty of sleep and don't move from bed!

    Good luck!

Oh hun! I know how you feel! I had a cold on monday (I was 9 weeks as well!) and it was horrible. Spoke to the pharmacist as well and he advised I couldnt take any cold/flu tablets or nasil decongrestant sprays etc. Only thing I could take was panadol. But to clear your nose he said I could use a saline spray.

I'm jsut starting to get over it now but was miserable for a week Hope you feel better soon hun
