help me find that scent!!!

For the past 5 years (I'm determined!) I've been searching high & low for either scented candles, essential oil etc etc that has the fragrance of the 'Oriental Lilly' - the big white lillies with the hot pink centres and the stamens that can/do stain your clothes (learnt that the hard way!)
I got a beautiful big bunch of these flowers when Jesse was born and also when Lucas was born, and the smell is divine and always reminds me of when the boys were both so very little.
If anyone's got any ideas or if you know of somewhere I can purchase this...well I'd just love 'ya to pieces!!

If you are really and trully wanting to find the scent - go to any large purfumier (sp?)-somewhere that employs people to smell/make scents - they are amazing! Large places are usually better - unfortunately i only know of one place that would be very helpful and they are in France!

Yes...ha ha Jen...very funny...I'm struggling to get on a plane to Queensland, let alone France!!!
Vespera...I tried the second link but there wasn't anything under the name you mentioned.
Well, I guess I have to resign myself to the fact that I will never find this wonderful scent...DH will just have to buy me bunches and bunches of Oriental Lilliums every week...yeah right!
It strikes me as very odd that Britney Spears can put out that sickly disgusting lolly water and call it a perfume, yet no one has thought to bottle this smell...we live in a very weird world indeed!

I'm sorry I can't help but I know how you feel about the scent reminding you of when they were little. For me, it's the smell of the antiseptic soap on tap in the hospital and the smell of Pigeon baby wipes! I had a sample pack that I used in the hospital when DS#1 was born. Months later I smelt them when someoneelse used them and OMG I was back in that hospital room again! It's such a beautiful memory stirrer-even if it is an artificial scent!

I know exactly what you mean!
When Jesse was in the Special Care Nursery we always had to wash our hands with that antiseptic soap upon entering, and when I was pregnant with Lucas I was in the OB's rooms waiting for an appointment. After using the bathroom, I washed my hands (without taking any notice of the actual soap) and instantly the Special Care Nursery memories came flooding back!
The Pentavite smell also takes me back.

You should read what a 'nose, does - i dont know if they have any info about theirs on the site - maybe you could contact them about finding your scent? Also, i was thinking - that lily is actually a very strong scented plant - it is entirely possible that you wont just find that scent as it would be too concentrate - it would have other distilled oils or even water in it to make it remotely nice to wear as a scent once made. I will post a few here if i find them, to see if they have 'your lily' in them!

Oh Fragonard...... Went to their factory in the Sth of France. Some of their scents are beautiful.
