    Default Itching Scar

Right, I have a scar, and its itching like no tomorrow, I just wanna scratch the hell out of it lol, (must have been scratching in my sleep last night, because this morning it was red and sore)

anyways, i'm just wondering what I can put on it to ease the scratching, I don't want to do harm to it by accidentaly scratching at it (its in a obvious place so people will see if I make it all yucky)

the surgeon told me i'm not allowed to put bio oil or the likes on it till i've passed the 6wk mark, which isn't till next mon I think, so what can I put on it in the mean time?

    Its driving me mental

By the 5 week mark rule I am going to guess its still a recent wound??? If so pop an icepack on it as its just a sign of healing.... if its older than that it could be lacking moisture but I would think its more the earlier than the later based on what you have said

I'd suggest making upa dish of water with a handful of rolled oats in it, and use the water to bathe the area. This will help with the itching.

Also, keep it cool. Scar tissue doesn't sweat and sometimes the itching can be because of heat. I have a tattoo with a bit of scarring that itches on hot days for this reason and cooling it down by rubbing an ice cube over it helps a lot.

I use a cup of bicarb in our bathwater to help with healing from my CS scar to the 3rd degree burn on my foot to DS' eczema or nappy rash.... works wonders
