Default 15 month old driving a wedge!!

Literally!!! He's going through a completely clingy phase and today when DH and I had a cuddle he came up a literally forced his way between us and wanted me to pick him up. I don't mind so much that he doesn't want me to cuddle DH or DS1 - whenever I do he comes up and tries to pull them off and get up himself - it's just that when I work (I teach piano from the back room and I have a gate up to keep in the play room next door) and gets SOOO clingy he has to be near me.

Sometimes I get the kids minded but not always as it costs so much. I know a lot of it will just be wait until it passes but I was wondering if any of you have any tips or tricks to maybe hurry up that process?? Love to hear any ideas....ta!

I dont want to sound harsh
but I would not be picking him up or letting him force his way in when you are giving affection to someone else.

he needs to learn to share you and that you can not always be with just him, as he sounds like he is wanting.

I do think if you dont put a stop to this now rather then him just growing out of it he may be more protective of you and get violent towards others who have your attention.

my daughter was very protective of a daycare worker, and it got to the stage that when this carer was with another child keiara would hit them and just throw tantrums to get this carers attention and it worked like a charm.
the fact that he is already trying to pull your other child off you for your attention, sorta has signs of it starting.

so my advise is to stop it now, dont stop everything but make a point of saying no im cuddling dad or ds1 at the moment you need to wait.
you are the boss and while he is 15 months he knows what he is doing.

I agree with kieras mum. His not the only one in your family and sounds a little odd for you to say that you don't mind, as your basically teaching him that his number one and you wont be shared with anyone else.

I would probably let him know it is not appropriate to retaliate or pull anyone else away for him to be picked up and acknoledged.

What about your dh or other son??

I know it's not the same, but a week ago I stayed at my sisters house, she has an adorable month old kitten that I was cuddling, DS got quite jealous and tried to shove the kitten away and wanted to sit on my lap, he did this every time i had a cuddle with the kitten. o.O
