    Default Townsville Mum

    Hi Everybody,

Not too sure if I am posting in the right area but I was just wondering if anyone knew of any Playgroups in Townsville. I have a 5 week old baby boy and am keen on meeting some new people.

    Thanks
    Donna

    Hi

I'm not from Townsville so can't help you, but if you contact the Playgroup association of QLD they should be able to point you in the right direction.

Also, I just googled playgroup Townsville & got quite a few links. Maybe try that & see if any are near you.

hey i don't live in townsville but use to and still visit regularly (live an hour out of town and still have to drop hubby at airport every week) - if you head over to the north qld section you'll find a heap of townsville threads - but from recent activity it looks like most don't get on here much these days - but try your luck and you might catch some one

if in doubt i'm always up for a coffee if i'm in town

As Meggs mentioned, there are quite a few playgroups in Townsville if you search the playgroup website http://www.playgroupaustralia.com.au/qld/

I'll PM you the details of the one I go to and you would be most welcome but I have noticed most mum's who come with really young bubs don't really stick around. All playgroups are different but ours tend to revolve around activities, morning tea and stories for the kids so probably more appealing for a mum with an older child (over say 12months).

Do you have a mother's group that you meet up with? That might be something to look into as well.

Something else I did when my DS was little was sign up for babies Kids in Harmony classes - it involves baby massage, song & music and activities and you get to meet other mums with babies of similar ages. They are in Cranbrook - you can look them up on the net as well.

Or as proudmama suggested take a look in the Nth Qld section of bubhub and you should encounter some other mums keen to meet up.
