Default Any one in QLD brought through Housing commission

As stated is there anyone that has brought a home through Housing comission?

I put my name down for a house this morning and have been put in category 3 and even though there is still a long wait, I was just wondering how buying a house through them is different the through a bank?

Do they sell it cheaper? Or do they charge less a month for repayments?

I am curious to know so I can make the choice to buy when we get one.
    And then their was 5

The application is to rent through department of housing (if you qualify) and then after 3 months of living there you can opt to buy the house your in.

The wait depends on what categry your in, I am in cat C so will have to wait a few years maybe 5ish, but it depends on your situation and your kids health and if your parntered or not.
