Default Michelle Obama Wears $540 Designer Sneakers, TO FEED THE POOR

It's a first lady faux pas -- wearing expensive, high-fashion French designer sneakers to a food bank
    .

Michelle Obama wore the sneakers, made by Lanvin, while helping feed the poor at a Washington
food bank on Wednesday. The pricetag on the footwear? A cool $540.

The White House did not return a message seeking comment.

The only thing that is bad taste about this is that this kind of B.S makes it into the news

She is the wife of the president of one of the wealthiest countries in the world, is anyone really surprised that she wears expensive sneakers? Do we really think she would have a pair of dirty old vollies lying around for trips out like this? Should she have gone op-shopping for an outfit before she hit the streets? Do you think the poor people were so jealous of her footwear that they completely overlooked the free food?

just don't get it, it's ridiculous

are you ladies so convinced that consumerism is reasonable that you think it is decent to wear shoes that cost more than the average US weekly wage while handing out food to people that probably dont even have a pair of shoes on?

OMG this world is becoming pretty sick

    why shouldnt it be news?

people should be aware of the hipocracy of these elitists .. this is what people vote in!

i dont think being the presidents wife is a reason to shove in our faces consumerism at its worst.. in fact its more of a reason for respect/consideration and compassion to others by being thoughtful

i dont take too well to wasting money on such things while people starve..

perhaps she could have fed an extra 1000 people on that $500.... that is a big pile of boglanaise

what a waste of time it was to write that article

now im just taking a guess here but im thinking the people at the food bank (the ones that matter) had their minds far from what was on her feet. my 2 guesses are
"holy heck its the presidents misses serving me"
    or
"p!ss the cameras off and let me get the dame food"

bad taste ??? they are shoes and not very good looking ones at that (actually the only bad taste is the shoes themselves), if i saw them i would be thinking what the heck she did to the vollys.....i actually think the shoes look pretty cheap

and so she should dress in daggy clothes?
hmmm, bad taste in wasting the presses time printing it.

it is not her sole responsibilty to give everything she earns to the poor... im under the impression that they actually give away a good chunk of change to charities every year from their own pocket
