Just wondering if anyone is going to the Optimum Birth Conference on the Gold Coast on the 27th to 29th of October??

The reason I ask is I want to attend, but accomodation being quite exy for one, does anyone want to share the cost of a room???

Hey I actually live on the Gold Coast and I'm doing my Doula course through Optimum birth. Is this conference for trained Doula's only? I suppose by then I will be a trained Doula. email me and we'll chat about possible accomodation at my place. anita_fairy@hotmail.com

Here's the link to information on the Doula conference:-

    http://www.optimumbirth.com/conference.html

It's not actually an Optimum Birth conference as such, it's an annual event held for all Doulas as a collective group to attend, and each year a different sponsor holds it (to my knowledge). Last year it was held at the Centre for Human Transformation in the beautiful Yarra Valley (it was the second annual national Doula conference, so this year's is the third) - I was fortunate enough to attend, and it was a sublime experience. Extremely rewarding and I would highly recommend that any Doulas (aspiring, studying or certified alike - all are welcome) who can make it do attend. The shared wisdom and networking opportunities are fantastic.

Last year over 100 people attended, but this year there are only spots for 70...so if you're keen to attend, book fast!

I've moved to Tassie only recently and can't really afford the airfare, accomodation and conference fee this year (nor the time away from my son). I'm sad to miss it but hope to hear great things about it!

I'm heading over there and it co-insides with the due date of a good friend, but I can't stay if she is post-dates - it's also the same day of my son's birthday. Then I fly home, but may need to fly out to SA as a really good friend is due early Nov! It's madness! I'm undecided if my family will come or not, but if you still can't find anything I will post and it might be an option if you like!
