Default cradlecap/dandruff in 2 year old

I don't know if its classed as dandruff or cradlecap but how do i get rid of it?

I've tried olive oil which got rid of it for two days but i had to wash her hair twice to get it back to normal. I don't fancy washing her hair every night.

are there any shampoos that are good for it?

should I just leave it alone?

I worry that she might be uncomfortable having a dry scalp.

My DS had cradle cap at around this age too - I used an olive oil mist spray from the Body Shop, and gently scratched the scabs off after a few minutes. He said it didn't bother him; it just bothered me as I could see it through his white hair.

I found the mist didn't leave his hair oily - I'd use it before his bath/shower and rinse his hair with water & it was fine.

    Good luck!

ds developed cradle cap at about 5mths old. my gp advised me to use johnson and johnsons baby oil. i had to massage into his scalp every morning and then wash it out every night. it only took a couple of days before I seen results. he is 14mths old now and Im still doing this.

i guess im just a creature of habit lol

do you wash her hair in the bath?

Scalp can develop build up, when you wash hair with bath water, as it isn't 100% clean.. it has soap residue etc in it ..

if you wash her in the bath .. use running water to rinse her hair.. so the water rinsing it out is completely soap and shampoo free.

A friend had this issue with her son - and was told the above by a nurse/ dr ... and within a week she had it fixed ..

    good luck
