As you know I am considering Noah for my son, however I have a cousin with the same name. My sister thinks I shouldn't use it because we already have one in the family but I think its fine because we haven't seen him or heard from him for about 10 or 11 years (we met him once when he was 4 years old). He is on my mum's side of the family and we hardly see them anymore. Do you think its ok if I used it, he won't be named after my cousin, its just coincedence (sp)
Also, a friend of a friend is having a baby boy also and shes due at the end of June. She keeps going on to me about stealing her name (her and I haven't told each other what our name choices are, I have only told Grant and my sister so far) if we DO end up calling our sons the same name is it stealing (since she'll give birth before me)?
I've liked the name Noah for ages even before I was pregnant. She is a friend of a friend and only see her about once every 3 months or whatever, I'm worried that if our sons have the same name shes going to get all annoyed at me.
ETA: I wrote on my Facebook page that I had chosen a name for a boy (and a girl in case the ultrasound is wrong) and she replied with "hopefully we don't pick the same name" then later on "I'm due at the end of June so you'll have plenty of notice" Why? Because she is due first she gets naming rights over me? I really hope we don't end up with the same name but I'm not going to make a huge fuss about it because a) Noah is already quite popular anyway and b) we see one another only every now and then. I told her I've had the name picked out since before I was pregnant.

given you've never discussed names with each other how could you be accused of 'stealing' it?
