Default I need more help again (stealing a name)

As you know I am considering Noah for my son, however I have a cousin with the same name. My sister thinks I shouldn't use it because we already have one in the family but I think its fine because we haven't seen him or heard from him for about 10 or 11 years (we met him once when he was 4 years old). He is on my mum's side of the family and we hardly see them anymore. Do you think its ok if I used it, he won't be named after my cousin, its just coincedence (sp)

Also, a friend of a friend is having a baby boy also and shes due at the end of June. She keeps going on to me about stealing her name (her and I haven't told each other what our name choices are, I have only told Grant and my sister so far) if we DO end up calling our sons the same name is it stealing (since she'll give birth before me)?
I've liked the name Noah for ages even before I was pregnant. She is a friend of a friend and only see her about once every 3 months or whatever, I'm worried that if our sons have the same name shes going to get all annoyed at me.

ETA: I wrote on my Facebook page that I had chosen a name for a boy (and a girl in case the ultrasound is wrong) and she replied with "hopefully we don't pick the same name" then later on "I'm due at the end of June so you'll have plenty of notice" Why? Because she is due first she gets naming rights over me? I really hope we don't end up with the same name but I'm not going to make a huge fuss about it because a) Noah is already quite popular anyway and b) we see one another only every now and then. I told her I've had the name picked out since before I was pregnant.

I wouldn't worry about your cousin at all, as you said Noah is pretty popular anyway.

Your friend sounds a bit spiteful given you've never discussed names with each other how could you be accused of 'stealing' it?

Stick with Noah if you love it

Well as for having the same name as your cousin, I don't think it is a big deal. If you haven't seen him in 10 years I doubt it would be a problem.

With your friend, I would say to her the next time she brought it up about picking names is that you have a name picked and you are still going to use it even if she accidently picks the same name. If you make it clear to her before your babies are born she can't really get upset if it does end up happening.

You could also say to her that you have picked the name Noah and if she likes the name too, then you are more than happy to have her son named the same as yours.

Yeah see this is what I think too. Its not as though she has just given birth and said "I've had my son, his name is Noah" or "I plan on naming him Noah" and I've come along and said "oh, I love that name, I might use it for my son." I haven't told anyone my name choices (for boy or girl) to anyone apart from Grant and my sister (and apart from people on the internet just to get some advice etc) so its not like I am "stealing" it. She doesn't own the name, right? If we DO end up naming our sons the same name, it'd be annoying but I'm not going to make a huge fuss about considering a) Noah is already quite popular anyway and b) she is actually a friend of a friend and we only see each other once every few months anyway.

TBH i would even worry! Silly people with stealing names, your not even close friends!!! And your cousin....you should say "oh him, i forgot about him, havent seen him for so long"

ETA: my bil and his gf said they like talia and may want to use it if kids come up.....now we have been ttc for 3 years and for 3 yrs we have said we will call our little girl talia clare.....and made it very vocal......if they turn around and use that name, i will be devestated! not to mention soooooo pi$$ed off!!!!
so some name stealing isnt okay, but cassie, i recon you should use Noah!

I cant remember the name anymore(haha shows how much i liked it) but my cousin is named the same thing..

I wouldnt use it but mainly becuase im selfish and dont want them to share a name for a stupid reason really, i want my own names.

I would be really annoyed if a family memeber used bailey and whatever im calling this bub..

I feel like saying to her "look, I've chosen the name Noah" (without knowing what shes chosen) that way she can't accuse me of stealing because I don't even know what name/s shes picked. But I really don't want to tell anyone because I don't want people saying "oh I don't like that" or whatver.
