    Angry I just don't understand...

It infuriates me to read things like this. This guy got 3 years jail for bashing a puppy. And yet this guy from the other day only gets 18 months for bashing his son. What is wrong with our justice system??

I agree that our justice system sux the big one but it needs to be pointed out that he actually only got 6 months for animal cruelty (2 counts at three months each), the rest of the sentence was for " offences including burglary, theft and breaching an intervention order."

    .
hmm if he is lucky he will be protected, but accidents do happen.

plus the whole world knows his face and his crimes, he is a p#ssy, and shall be treated as such by others who met him

I may be wrong, but I think what Norah was saying was that he did not get a longer sentence for bashing the puppy than the child, which is how this thread first appears to read.

The sentences still suck though when we have people serving extensively longer prison sentences for offences involving property than offences involving serious assaults on other human beings. And for what its worth I think the 6 months for the puppy bashing sucks as well. Generally, if people are cruel to animals they have a predisposition for violence whatever/whoever the victim.

The problem with our justice system is that it's priorities are completely out of whack.

Our politicians and judges should be more aware of public opinion and at least give out sentences that fit the gravity of the crimes.
