insulation - what type?

Just wondering if anyone knows the best type of insulation to get for ceilings (that are covered by the govenment rebates?) What did you get and are you happy with them?

Gah! I just typed a long response and my server dropped out Lots of different types. We are looking at the moment too because of the rebates with both nsw state government and federal until July 30. From what I can work out the higher the rating the longer it takes for the room to go cold. My Mum got a quote the other week for her home grade 4 (minimum recommended for our area is about 3) which we think works out to be 4 hours, her home is 3 bedroom medium sized home and her quote was $1600. She can claim half through the federal and we think a further $300 from the state. Makes it very reasonable.

Our biggest problem is having the old old old cheap and tired stuff removed and working out which is best for us with the different types enviro models etc

I know that we have to do it before we extend and get two quotes. We were going to get it done anyhow but this just means we do it quicker!!

We are getting Simply Solar in Brisbane to do ours. I think they do all the states The guy was really nice and he explained everything to us and we are getting thick batts not that blow in stuff that apparently attracts termites which is a concern...
