Default Heinz - not so caring

I don't know if I'm over-reacting but I'm pretty mad at the moment.
I wrote an email to Heinz telling them that I tried to make their biscuit recipe as it had no milk in the list of ingredients and thought it would be ideal for my daughter who is allergic to milk. I told them that upon buying all the ingredients I found that when I read the muesli box it contained skim milk. So I wrote in to them and suggested that they should look into the possibility of supplying the market with a "milk" free muesli as there are a lot of kids out there with lactose intolerance and milk allergies. And I also suggested maybe they should put a warning on the box or the recipe that the muesli contains milk products. Well I recieved an email back straight away, can't complain about the speediness, but the content was quite short and rude saying exactly this:
We declare all ingredients used in the recipe on the label.
No "thanks for your suggestions" or anything nice like that. Upon reading this reply it made me feel like a right idiot for not taking the time to read the packet whilst in the supermarket! And who would have thought that muesli had milk in it already???
    Am I over-reacting?

Blimey that is rude. You were merely making a suggestion!! I'd email back again & tell them how dissapointed you are with how they responded to your suggestion!!

    Be polite though.

    Oh dear
I would actually give them a call.
We did this a few weeks back as one of their labels had been printed incorrectly & we realised that all the jars were the same on a later trip to the supermarket.
We got a full refund for the jar plus a bit more lol as it was a cheque !
So $3 back instead of 80 cents heh.
So maybe give them a call & speak with them about it im sure if pushed you would be given a refund.
I guess i always look at things like that but yeah i do understand your frustration.
    Good luck

I have posted in the biscuit recipe thread as well - but the Iron Enriched High Protein Multigrain Mix Baby cereal has no milk in it. The ticks on the front have comments on the side next to each tick and one of them is that it is milk and lactose free. So they don't mark the ones with milk as having milk, but the ones without milk have it written in on the side...

of course, if they had taken the time to get someone to reply who actually knows their products, they would have told you about this muesli that is already on the market and meets your requirements.

Ah thanks Sams mum. Yes you would think that they would know the product range better considering the terse reply I recieved. I might just tell them that in my friendly response. I went shopping today and found a muesli in our local health food store and baked the bikkies and they are a hit! Thanks heaps for the recipe!
