Default Palpitations / flutters ??? should I be getting concerned ??

Ok so I have had palpitations before, have done for years but only ever every now and then - used to be that I would have one and think "what was that! havent had that happen for I dont know how long" But then they have wound up being a semi regular thing - still usually not alot but more regularly.
Well does anyone else get them and at what point do you become concerned ????
just recently I am getting them alot and the last cpl of days it has seemed to be gettin more frequent and today they are really bad-not constant but I am getting them flat out and I have to admit I am starting to freak out just a little as to why they are getting more frequent.
The drs cant see me till thursday
They are not painfull and I dont feel particually ill or anything but I just keep getting them???
Any ideas ?? at what point should I really be getting worried????

    Hi Tazzieangel,
I have had the palpitations and flutters also that were irregular and happened every now and then. Then all of a sudden ( I don't want to scare you) I had one large palpitation one night then the next day I had a heart attack at the age of 26 (didn't know I was having one at the time) Went up to the hospital after chest, left arm and jaw pain and told me i had, had a heart attack. After a week of tests they came to the conclusion I had myocarditis (viral infection to outer heart muscle).
If at possible I would go to the hospital to let them know you are having these and are increasing in regularity.

    Hi TazzieAngel

The symptoms you describe COULD point to hypo-thyroidism. Do you have dry skin or an unsettled stomach. There are other symptoms but I can't remember them. I have this condition (also known as Hashimotos) and it is easily controlled by a daily dose of oroxin. It is simply a hormone imbalance.

Hope it is something as simple as this.

    Good luck!

    Hi
Well I went off to the dr's last night -the nurse agreed to see me and have the dr go over the notes and see me between patients!
Well they ended up hooking me up for a ECG and recorded what was going on -I had a fever also by this stage (had been feeling warm but no fever all day) so basically the ECG showed what was going on and showed that there was defenately something going on there (duh) but thankfully it has turned out to be a benign(sp) irregularity -what it is has a proper name which I cannot think of rght now and I couldnt have spelt if I did -lol but basically it is not anything to worrie about-it is being triggered by something and can have many different causes so I just have to take it easy and get plenty of rest.
Could be something as simple as over tiredness/ comeing down with something/ being a bit generally run down that has triggered it.

I am still going to keep the appointment for thursday and just get a full check up etc as my blood pressure was up a bit too :/

    Phew!!!
